Petcube Cam 360: price, Care costs and room placement

What Petcube Cam 360 adds with pan-tilt and privacy mode, what Care costs on top, and the Wi-Fi and placement checks worth making before you buy.

Petcube Cam 360 is an indoor pet camera that can rotate its view from the Petcube app. Like Petcube Cam, live viewing works without a paid plan. Video history, smart alerts and browser playback come through optional Petcube Care. The useful question is whether pan-tilt coverage of one open room is worth more than a cheaper fixed Cam aimed at one zone.

Checked: October 2, 2026. US prices, bundles, Care plans, app requirements and store terms can change. Confirm them in Petcube's checkout and app before paying.

The short answer

Choose Cam 360 when your dog moves between several spots in one open room—bed, sofa and doorway—and you want to re-aim the view without walking over to move the camera. Choose a fixed Cam when one predictable angle already answers your question, such as a crate corner or a single gate.

Neither camera sees through walls or closed doors. Live viewing is included; saved history and smart alerts are Care plan features. Budget for Care if you need a record of what happened while you were away.

What to checkPetcube Cam 360Why it matters
Video1080p HD, 105-degree lens, 8x digital zoomRotation helps, but the lens still covers one cone of view at a time.
Movement350-degree horizontal and 55-degree vertical rotation, per PetcubeUseful in one open room; not a substitute for a second camera in another room.
PrivacyClosed-lens privacy mode listed by PetcubeYou can block the lens without unplugging the camera.
SoundTwo-way full-duplex audioYou can hear the room and speak through the camera. Do not assume your dog will find the sound reassuring.
Night viewUp to 30 feet, according to PetcubeUseful in a dark room, but still limited by the camera's actual sightline.
Connection2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, with 2 Mbps upload recommendedNeeds power and a steady local connection. It does not use cellular data on its own.
Size94 x 66 x 118 mm, about 0.285 kg unit weightLarger than Petcube Cam. Plan shelf, wall or ceiling space and a cable route your dog cannot reach.
SubscriptionOptionalLive streaming works without Care. History, smart alerts and other features depend on the Care plan.

When checked, Petcube's US store showed one Cam 360 at $34.99, reduced from $52.99, plus two- and three-camera packs also on sale. That is a store snapshot, not a promised price. Use the Petcube Cam 360 product page for the current price, bundles and delivery options.

What pan-tilt actually buys you

A fixed Cam watches the angle you set before you leave. Cam 360 lets you rotate that angle from the live view. That helps when a dog shifts between a bed, a sofa and a door in the same room, or when you need to look behind furniture that a fixed aim would miss.

It does not give you an all-seeing 360-degree image at once. Petcube describes a 105-degree lens that moves on a pan-tilt base. You still choose where to look. For two rooms, a hallway plus a closed bedroom, or a yard you cannot cover from indoors, you still need another camera or a different product.

If you only need one zone—crate, bed or gate—a cheaper fixed Cam is usually the clearer buy. Our Cam vs Cam 360 comparison covers that room-first decision in more detail.

What you get before paying for Petcube Care

The free camera service is live viewing in the Petcube app. You can open the stream remotely, listen to the room, use two-way audio and rotate Cam 360's view. Petcube also says you can share the camera with family or friends through the app, with permissions chosen by the account holder.

That may be enough if your real question is, "Is the dog on the sofa, asleep on the bed, or pacing by the door?" You need to open the app while the event is happening. Without a recording plan, there is no timeline to replay later.

Petcube says Cam 360 works without a monthly subscription for live streaming. Its product FAQ also says that without Care you do not get cloud storage or smart alerts. Treat the free service as a live peephole with remote aiming, not a security archive.

Petcube Care is where the ongoing cost starts

Petcube Care adds cloud video history, short clips, smart alerts, a web interface and downloads. Petcube's Care page divides that into a free camera tier plus Optimal and Premium plans.

Plan shown by PetcubePrice shownWhat changes for a Cam 360 owner
BasicFree with every cameraLive video streaming and a one-year warranty, but no video history, smart alerts, web interface or downloads.
Optimal$9.99 monthly, or $59.88 total yearlyThree days of history, smart alerts, a web interface, limited downloads, Daily Diary videos and smart filters.
Premium$16.99 monthly, or $143.88 total yearlyNinety days of history, unlimited downloads, unlimited cameras on one account, a two-year warranty and online vet chats are listed.

Petcube also advertises Care starting from $5.99 per month in some camera promotions and a savings message on yearly cards. Trial availability and billing details belong in the checkout and app for your order.

Do not confuse Care with the separate Petcube Emergency Fund membership. The Emergency Fund has its own mandatory 14-day waiting period, approval process and one-use yearly payment limit.

The useful comparison is live viewing versus a saved record. Someone who only checks in at lunchtime may be happy with the free service. Someone who wants bark or motion alerts during a meeting is paying for history and notifications.

Placement and Wi-Fi decide whether rotation helps

Put Cam 360 where the dog's main path is still in line of sight. Rotation helps inside one open room. It cannot look through a wall, a closed door or a solid sofa back from a bad shelf.

Before ordering, check three practical details:

  • Power. The box includes a USB cable and power adapter. Pick a route that keeps the cable out of reach and does not create a trip hazard.
  • Wi-Fi. Petcube lists 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and recommends about 2 Mbps upload. Check that signal in the exact room, not only beside the router.
  • The app device. The product page lists iOS 14 or later and Android 7.1.2 or later. You will use that phone or tablet for setup, viewing and pan-tilt control.

Petcube's support material for Cam 360 covers setup through the app, offline troubleshooting and sharing access. If your router combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one name, confirm setup can complete before the return window closes. A strong connection next to the router says little about a far bedroom or garage conversion.

Petcube Cam 360 compared with simpler choices

OptionBest forMain trade-off
Cam 360 without CareLive check-ins across several spots in one open roomNo saved timeline or smart alerts.
Cam 360 with CarePeople who want clips and notifications after they leaveAdds an ongoing subscription cost.
Fixed Petcube CamOne predictable bed, crate or gate angleYou cannot re-aim remotely.
Two fixed camerasSeparate rooms that matter at the same timeHigher hardware cost; Premium Care can change multi-camera maths.
No camera, with a dog-proofed spaceShort absences where a check-in would not change what you doYou cannot see or review what happened while you were away.

Choose the setup that captures the moments you actually need to understand. A fixed Cam facing a crate can beat a pan-tilt camera aimed at the wrong wall. A Cam 360 in the right open room can beat buying a second camera you never check.

What looks good, and what needs care

Reasons Cam 360 may suit your home

  • Pan-tilt control lets you follow a dog across one open room from the app.
  • Live viewing does not require a Care subscription.
  • Petcube lists a closed-lens privacy mode so you can block the view without unplugging.
  • Petcube currently lists a 45-day money-back guarantee and a one-year limited warranty for purchases through its store.

Reasons to pause before ordering

  • It needs a nearby power outlet and reliable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It will not keep recording through a home internet outage.
  • Rotation does not replace a second camera in another room.
  • Saved history and smart alerts are plan features, not part of the free camera service.
  • The unit is larger than Petcube Cam. Confirm shelf or mount space before ordering.
  • A camera can help you observe a dog. It cannot replace in-person care, a secure setup or urgent veterinary advice.
  • We have not tested Petcube Cam 360. Treat feature, range, alert and setup statements as manufacturer information, not BarkOnTrack performance results.

Who should choose Petcube Cam 360?

It is most likely to fit:

  • Homes where the dog's bed, sofa and doorway sit in one open living area.
  • People who want remote re-aiming without walking over to move a fixed camera.
  • Families who want to share a live camera with a partner, sitter or relative through the app.
  • People who can decide in advance whether they need live viewing only or a paid history plan.

Skip it, or research more before buying, if one fixed angle already answers your question, your Wi-Fi is unreliable in the room you need to watch, your dog can reach the cable, you need a battery-powered camera, or you want a product that can diagnose health or behaviour. Start with the Cam vs Cam 360 room check if you are still choosing between models.
