Petcube Cam vs Cam 360: which view fits your room?
Compare Petcube Cam and Cam 360 by room layout, view control, Wi-Fi needs, optional Care costs and the camera placement that matters.

Petcube Cam and Petcube Cam 360 do the same basic job. Both give you a live indoor view, two-way audio and optional Care features. The difference is simple: Cam watches the angle you set, while Cam 360 can rotate its view in the app.

The short answer
Buy the regular Cam for one predictable zone, such as a crate corner, dog bed or doorway. Pay more for Cam 360 when your dog crosses a larger room, disappears behind furniture, or you need to look toward different spots without moving the camera.
Neither camera sees through furniture, walls or closed doors. Before choosing a model, stand in the room and decide what you really need to see.
Petcube Cam vs Cam 360 at a glance
| What to compare | Petcube Cam | Petcube Cam 360 |
|---|---|---|
| View | Fixed 110-degree wide-angle view. | 105-degree lens with 350-degree horizontal and 55-degree vertical rotation. |
| Best for | One bed, crate, gate or compact room. | An open room where the dog changes position. |
| Privacy | Unplug it or use your chosen physical setup. | Petcube lists a lens-closing privacy mode. |
| Wi-Fi | 2.4 GHz required. | 2.4 GHz required. |
| Subscription | Live viewing works without Care. | Live viewing works without Care. |
Petcube currently lists both cameras with 1080p video, two-way audio, night vision and 8x digital zoom. Cam 360's extra cost buys movement, not a magic wider lens that sees every corner at once.
Price example, October 8, 2026: Petcube's US pages listed Cam at $31.99 and Cam 360 at $46.99, a $15 premium before tax and shipping. This sale-price difference can change. For each model's ongoing budget and setup checks, see Cam costs and Wi-Fi setup and Cam 360 costs and placement.
Start with the room, not the product
For a fixed camera, face the bed, gate or doorway that answers your question. A camera aimed across a handsome empty room will not tell you whether your dog settled, paced by the exit, or reached the cable.
Cam 360 earns its place when the room has more than one important zone. Its support guide says you rotate it horizontally and vertically using the live-view arrows. This is user-controlled re-aiming, not a guarantee of automatic subject tracking. That is useful for a dog who moves between a sofa, bed and door. It does not make the camera a substitute for a second camera in a separate room.
The Wi-Fi check that catches people out
Both models need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, power and enough upload speed in the exact room. Do a quick signal check beside the dog bed or gate before the return window closes. A strong connection next to the router says very little about a far bedroom or garage conversion.
Care changes what the camera records
Petcube says both cameras work for live viewing without a paid plan. Care adds cloud history, smart alerts, browser access and downloads, depending on the plan. That makes it an optional recording service, not a requirement to turn the camera on.
| Need | Better fit |
|---|---|
| A live check from one spot | Cam without Care may be enough. |
| A moving view of one open room | Cam 360 without Care may be enough. |
| Clips and a timeline to review later | Include the relevant Care plan in the budget. |
| Coverage of separate rooms | Add a second camera rather than expecting one camera to see through walls. |

- It can still mount on a wall or sit on a shelf.
Reasons to pause before ordering
- Both rely on local power and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Two-way audio can unsettle some dogs. Use it sparingly and observe the response.
- Smart alerts and saved history are not the same as a medical or behaviour assessment.
Who should choose which camera?
Choose Cam for a dog-safe room with one bed or gate in clear view. Choose Cam 360 for an open living room where one angle would regularly miss the dog. Choose two cameras when the useful spaces are separated by walls or floors.
Frequently asked questions
Is Cam 360 better than Petcube Cam?
It is better when remote pan and tilt solve a real room-coverage problem. For a single fixed bed or crate view, the regular Cam may be the better value.

No. Petcube says live streaming works without a subscription. Care adds recording history, alerts and other plan features.
Do they work with 5 GHz-only Wi-Fi?
No. Petcube lists 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for both models. Check your router's available network in the room where you plan to install the camera.
Can one Cam 360 cover the whole house?
No. It can change its view within one room. It cannot see around walls, across floors or through a closed door.
