Petcube Water Fountain: price, filter cost, and when a bowl is cheaper

US price check for the Petcube fountain and its filter 3-pack, plus when the bowl you already own costs less.

The Petcube Water Fountain is not a one-time price. You pay for the unit, then for filters Petcube says to replace on a schedule. This page is that money question. Bowl size, drinking style, and whether a small dog will use a fountain are already in the fountain fit guide.

Checked: October 4, 2026, on Petcube's US pages. Prices, stock, and specs can change. Confirm checkout before you pay.

The short answer

Buy the fountain only if this pet will drink from it, you will replace the filter, and the filter is actually for sale. On this check, the filter 3-pack was listed and out of stock. A bowl you already own costs nothing more. That bowl is the cheaper correct choice when you will not keep the filter habit, or when you cannot buy replacements.

The fountain product page had the ceramic basin selected. It listed $89.99, reduced from $99.99. Its offer markup said in stock, and the visible button was Add to cart. The Out of stock button was hidden. The same page offers a steel basin, but that HTML did not print a separate steel price.

The fountain overview did print both. Steel was $69.99, reduced from $79.99. Ceramic was $89.99, reduced from $99.99. The buy buttons on that overview were disabled and labeled Out of stock, including the filter promo.

The filter 3-pack page listed $9.99, reduced from $19.99. Its offer markup said out of stock, the details line said 0 items, and the visible button was Out of stock.

The fountains category data layer listed the same three sale prices: steel $69.99, ceramic $89.99, and the 3-pack $9.99. Treat the two fountain pages as a conflict, not as two sales. Recheck both the product page and the overview before you add anything to the cart.

What filters cost if you follow Petcube

Petcube's setup FAQ says to replace the filter once every 4 weeks. The same pages also say filters last up to 30 days, and the overview says "30+ Days" of filter longevity. Those are not the same count. "Up to" is a ceiling, not a promise that every home gets 30 days.

At the listed sale price, $9.99 for three filters is $3.33 a filter. Petcube does not publish a yearly filter price. The totals below are arithmetic from that sale price and those two cadences. They are not a quote.

Cadence the pages stateChanges in a 52-week yearWhole 3-packs at $9.99Pack spend
Once every 4 weeks135 packs (15 filters, two left over)$49.95
A full 30 days, if you actually get thatabout 124 packs (12 filters)$39.96

If the crossed-out $19.99 pack price comes back, those same five packs are $99.95 and those four packs are $79.96. The overview also has a headline, "Get 3 filters with 15% OFF." That block did not show a dollar price, and its button was Out of stock. Do not subtract 15 percent from $9.99. The only filter dollar price on this check was the 3-pack page.

The product page says the box includes filters. It does not say how many. The pack math is the cost after those run out, not necessarily a charge on day one.

Petcube says you cannot use the fountain without the filter. A unit you cannot restock is not a savings. On this check the 3-pack had 0 items.

When a bowl is cheaper

Keep the bowl when any of these is true:

  • The dog already drinks from a bowl. That bowl's extra cost is $0. We did not price a new bowl, because the comparison is the one you have.
  • You will not change a filter every 4 weeks. The fountain page says the filter is required.
  • Filters are out of stock, as they were on this check, and you do not want a device you cannot run as specified.
  • This is the wrong shape of bowl. Capacity, height, and whether the dog likes moving water are in the fit guide. A fountain the dog will not use is the expensive choice even at $69.99.

A first year at the sale prices, if you buy the unit and then five 3-packs for a 4-week cadence, is $69.99 + $49.95 = $119.94 for steel, or $89.99 + $49.95 = $139.94 for ceramic. That steel figure uses the overview price, not a price the product page printed. It also assumes the $9.99 pack stays in stock. A bowl you already own is still $0 on top of what you pay now.

When the fountain's cost can make sense

The spend can make sense when all of these are true:

  • You have already decided the fountain fits this pet. That decision is the other guide, not this one.
  • You will buy filters on the 4-week instruction, and the 3-pack is in stock at checkout.
  • About $70 to $90 for the unit, then about $40 to $50 of filters in a year at the sale pack price, is money you meant to spend on drinking water rather than on a bowl you already trust.
  • You want the app reminders. Petcube says the fountain has no monthly fee. Filter alerts, tank alerts, and the other fountain features are included after you buy the device. Do not add a subscription to this total.

Shipping is not in those stickers. Petcube says the price depends on the speed and your location, and it does not list a flat rate on these pages. The product page lists a one-year limited warranty. The overview lists a 45-day money-back policy for a device bought in the Petcube store. Read both at checkout.

There is no separate BarkOnTrack link for the 3-pack. The fountain category is the joined Petcube path that lists the fountain and the filters. Open the filter page before you rely on the $9.99 price.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Petcube fountain?

On October 4, 2026, the US product page listed the ceramic basin at $89.99, reduced from $99.99, with Add to cart showing. The overview listed steel at $69.99, reduced from $79.99, and ceramic at $89.99, reduced from $99.99, with the buy buttons labeled Out of stock. Use the price on the page that lets you check out.

How much are replacement filters?

The US 3-pack page listed $9.99, reduced from $19.99. It also said 0 items and showed Out of stock. At $9.99, each filter in the pack is $3.33.

How often do filters need replacing?

Petcube says once every 4 weeks, and also that filters last up to 30 days. Budget for the shorter reading if you want the filter on hand. Thirteen changes in 52 weeks is five 3-packs if you only buy whole packs.

Does the fountain have a monthly fee?

Petcube says no. The fountain FAQ says filter and tank alerts are included after purchase, with no subscription fee. That is separate from whatever a filter pack costs.

Is a bowl cheaper?

Yes, if you already have one the dog drinks from, or if you will not keep buying filters. The fountain's extra cost is the unit plus those packs. A bowl you already own does not add either.
