Chuckit Ultra Ball sizes and launchers: buy a matching fetch setup
Choose an Ultra Ball by mouth fit, then match launcher size, included ball and pack quantity without mistaking packaging for diameter.
Buy the ball that fits your dog first. Match the launcher to that ball second. A longer handle cannot fix a ball that is too small for the dog's mouth or too large for the launcher's cup.
An Ultra Ball makes sense for supervised fetch when you want a rubber ball that floats. If your existing ball and launcher already fit, buying a new bundle may add nothing useful.

Ball size and handle length mean different things
Petmate's Sport Launcher illustrations identify the 14S with a 2-inch small ball and the 12M with a 2.5-inch medium ball. The number identifies a launcher model or handle format; the letter helps identify its ball size. Do not assume two launchers with similar handle lengths take the same ball.
The Sport selector includes 12M, 18M, 25M, 26L and 14S. Verify the exact variant's compatibility on its packaging before ordering replacement balls. A medium dog does not automatically need a medium ball. Mouth shape, how the dog carries a ball and the manufacturer's instructions matter more than a breed label.
Ultra Ball's three-number Details measurements can describe packaging. They are not a reliable ball-diameter chart. When a variant's actual diameter is unclear, ask the seller rather than converting a package length into a safety recommendation.
An Ultra Launcher does not always include an Ultra Ball
Petmate sells an 18M Ultra Launcher with a tennis ball and a separate 18M version with an Ultra Ball. Read the complete product title and included-contents description. Compare the price of the setup you actually want, including replacement balls, shipping and pack quantity.
A spare can be useful if you lose balls. A larger multipack is poor value if every ball is the wrong size. Keep an existing compatible launcher if it is in good condition.
Fetch use and inspection
Petmate describes Ultra Ball as a floating rubber fetch toy. Floating does not make a water site safe. Choose conditions and access suitable for your dog, supervise closely and avoid unsafe currents or banks.
Inspect the ball and launcher before each session. Remove damaged toys and stop if the dog tears pieces off or tries to swallow the ball. This is not a promise of durability for a persistent chewer. Put the toy away after play if the dog would chew it unattended.
Start with short throws in a clear space. A farther throw is not automatically a better session. Hand throwing may be enough for a small yard or a dog that prefers short retrieves. For a different play style, compare lattice enrichment balls and the general toy checklist.
Will any tennis-sized ball fit?
Do not rely on that phrase. Check actual ball size and the launcher's stated compatibility. Similar-looking balls may fit differently.
Which bundle should I buy?
Choose the right ball size, then decide whether you need a launcher at all. Check whether the selected bundle contains rubber Ultra Balls or tennis balls.
